WSOP programma voor dit jaar bekendgemaakt
Een paar dagen geleden is het programma voor de World Series of Poker van 2021 bekendgemaakt door de organisatie. Normaal gesproken zouden we over iets meer dan een maandje de aftrap hebben van de WSOP en zou het Casino Employee Event het traditionele openingstoernooi zijn. Maar normaal is het helaas allemaal nog steeds niet. Dus ook dit jaar zal de WSOP er anders uit gaan zien dan dat je gewend bent. Zo drastisch anders dan vorig jaar zal het gelukkig allemaal niet hoeven te zijn. Want ook al zijn we nog niet terug bij normaal; we zijn al wel een stuk op de goede weg.
Herfst
Vorig jaar werd besloten om eigenlijk alle toernooien online te spelen om het besmettingsgevaar zo laag mogelijk te houden. Alleen de finale werd wel live gespeeld. Dit jaar wilde de toernooiorganisatie weer terug naar zoveel mogelijk live gespeelde poker toernooien. Online poker festivals zijn er immers al genoeg. De WSOP is juist zo uniek door het grote aantal live toernooien.
Before the coronavirus shocked the world, the WSOP took place from late May and ran through July. That won’t work this year. But since there is a lot of vaccination in the United States and things seem to be going a bit better in other countries, live tournaments are possible again this year. Of course with appropriate measures.
Om alles wat langer de kans te geven om de besmettingsgevaar nog verder te verlagen is de WSOP dit jaar wel verplaatst nar de herfst. Om precies te zijn van 30 september tot en met 23 november.
WSOP Terug van weggeweest
Now that the live tournaments return to the WSOP, they can also be played on the old familiar base. So starting the last day of September of this year, the cards will be shuffled again at the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas. Of course this depends on the local rules. After all, if it is decided that all casinos have to close again, they will still fall back on an online WSOP. But the organization and local politicians see it brightly and expect that everything should be able to continue.
Er zullen weer een flink aantal toernooien gespeeld gaan worden, waaronder natuurlijk het Main Event. Op 4 november zal de eerste dag van het Main Event gespeeld gaan worden en op 17 november is het de bedoeling dat de kampioen van 2021 gekroond kan gaan worden.
The WSOP will not kick off this year with the Casino Employee Event. Instead, a special charity tournament will be organized for the benefit of the healthcare workers. Also in the first weekend a HORSE tournamentand a no limit event are played. The further program will be announced in the summer. But the first hotel and tournament reservations can already be made.
